New Build Private Residence

CLIENT

The undeveloped  site in the green zone was purchased with Planning Permission for a house by the client in late 2014.  The approved design did not quite suit the Clients requirements so EDP reworked the scheme and submitted for revised Planning in 2015.

BRIEF

The brief was to design a contemporary, open plan but flexible 4 bedroom house with excellent environmental credentials. It was also important there was a holistic approach to all aspects of the project to ensure the language and ethos of the design was seamless throughout the exterior and interior.

SOLUTION

EDP provided full Architectural and Interior Design services from concept to occupation. Including Building Control approval, detail design drawings and specifications, tender through to contract administration of the build process.

Photovoltaic panels, rain water harvesting for WC flushing and garden maintenance, low temperature underfloor heating provided by an Air Source Heat Pump, Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery system as well as a wood burning stove, all contribute to provide an environmentally sensitive building with very low running costs.
